Oxy+

Sewage / Odor / Wastewater Treatment

Waste Water Problems

The current problems of wastewater are to control odor (hydrogen sulfide (H2S), and to digest solid organic waste. The production of hydrogen sulfide, a gas commonly associated with wastewater, in sewage can lead to severe corrosion to pumps and motors, as well as the degradation of concrete structures in wastewater plants or ponds.

Product Information

  1. Oxy+ Waste Water Treatment

Oxy+ is a highly concentrated aqueous, non-hazardous, non-volatile, and biodegradable bio-stimulant. Oxy+ does not contain enzymes, waxes, bacteria or elements that are environmental harmful. Oxy+ is a proprietary bio-stimulant product that encourages the growth of aerobic microorganisms and discourage the growth of anaerobic microorganisms, which are responsible for the production of hydrogen sulfide.

Oxy+ contains vital nutrients to provide extra molecular oxygen for the bacteria in the wastewater plants or ponds. These bacteria will now have more oxygen generated by Oxy+ to live and to digest the waste substances that pollute the water. In the presence of sufficient oxygen and nutrients generated by Oxy+, these bacteria will become aerobic. In the aerobic form, the bacteria can consume about up to five times the waste compared to the anaerobic (no oxygen) state and the bacteria produce carbon dioxide (which are odorless), not hydrogen sulfide, thus eliminating unpleasant odors associated with wastewater, decomposing organic waste & cleaning the water. As less hydrogen sulfide is produced, less corrosion will occur in system equipment, prolonging the useful life of sewer lines, pumps and other structures.

Moreover, the degradation of organic waste present in sewage is not only enhanced, but also more complete, when the biomass of the system is processing the waste in an aerobic environment. Oxy+ facilitates aerobic bacteria (with oxygen) in ways no the compounds do. The chemicals in Oxy+ hyper active the bacteria beyond what are expected from just adding dissolved oxygen.

Comparison with other products

  1. Enzymes Products

Enzyme products are basically a catalyst that allows the existing bacteria to utilize the dissolved oxygen better. However, when the dissolved oxygen is consumed, the bacteria revert to anaerobic state. Oxy+ supplies much more nutrients than enzymes to keep the biomass aerobic.

  1. Bacteria Products

Adding bacteria in large amounts will jump-start the digestion of a biomass. The natural bacteria in the presence of large amounts of oxygen generated by Oxy+ will grow and multiply and accomplish the exact the same results and making adding expensive bacteria products generally unnecessary. Furthermore, bacteria products may not have the entire natural colony or strain of bacteria to accomplish the rapid digesting or composting of waste.

  1. Chlorine Products

Chlorine is a very strong biocide that stops all bacterial action. Chlorine dissipates rapidly. When the chlorine is dissipated, the bacteria become active the smell returns. Chlorine is not environment friendly. Chlorine is cheap and is available in many forms, but is not good for people or animals.

Recommended Use & Dosage

  1. Sewage Waste

Solid sludge waste or heavy concentration of organic solids that has a long anaerobic cooking time (high sulfides) may require a dosage of from 35 parts per million (ppm) to 200 ppm. Adjust the dosage until odors are gone and faster digestion of the solid . Oxy+ is a product designed to treat the source of hydrogen sulfide production.

Wastewater that has high total sulfides (over 5 ppm) and/or high Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) will take more than the normal dosage. The dosage can be as high as 200 to more ppm of Oxy+. The effective dosage is different in each environment. Dosages should be experimented to obtain the desired results while reducing cost.

Example: Test a small sample (10 liters) with controlled dosages (add one 1/1000 of a liter or one ml) in steps (increments) to find the desired dosage. One ml is 100 ppm.

  1. Animal Waste Ponds or Lagoons

The elimination of years of accumulation of solid waste does not happen instantaneously. Keeping the biomas in aerobic state will eliminate the odors and accelerate the digestion of the solid. As a function of the amount of solids and the composition of the solid wastes, months not weeks of treatment are expected. If solids are continually added, the aerobic bacteria may not be able to digest as fast as additional solid wastes are added

The recommended use for animal waste should be experimented with the assumption the pH level, the amount of biocides used and the temperature are suitable for strong bacterial growth and the pond is kept aerobic through proper aeration. If the pond is overloaded and over used, adding sufficient quantities of Oxy+ will stop the odors, but the bacteria may not be able to digest all the solids.

Packaging:

  1. 5 Gallon Pail (18 liters)
  2. 55 Gallon Barrel (208 liters)
  3. 265 Gallon Tote (1000 liters)

Caution

Do not allow Oxy+ to freeze. If the product is allowed to free, the chemicals will precipitate. Warming and agitating the product to about 150 degrees F will allow the solids to return to the dissolved state.
